Minister Duggins said that one of the aims of this project is to provide a platform to showcase and celebrate the local visual artists.
"As the Minister of Culture, witnessing the murals created by Mr. Curtis Mulley of Parsons Village and Ms. Anique Ward of St. Pauls was truly inspiring and impressive," he added.
The Creative Community Murals Project is an initiative of the Ministry of Sports and the Creative Economy and is of keen interest to the Minister and his team.

It may also serve to highlight and propel the many young and not-so-young creatives in the country.
The initiative is designed to act as a fun and creative medium for the following:
1. Beautification of visually depressed areas of underserved communities
2. Uplift community spirit and facilitate enhanced community ownership and pride among members
3. Publicly display and celebrate elements of our rich Kittitian cultural heritage
4. To tell the story of our people through captivating public imagery
5. Provide a public platform to showcase and celebrate the skills and creativity of the visual artists
6. Add new and compelling elements to the tourism product
7. Facilitate greater meaningful grassroots involvement in the development and upkeep of the communities
Minister Samal Duggins outlined that the artistic vision of the individuals is turning visually depressed areas into vibrant showcases of cultural heritage. [caption id="attachment_66404" align="aligncenter" width="2000"] Artist painting the walls in St Kitts[/caption]
Additionally, their work not only beautifies but also instils pride in their respective community. All of which serve as the core objectives of the Mural project, he added.
While addressing the artists, Duggins said that the world is their Canvas, "so keep creating a better world and better St Kitts and Nevis for us to live in! I can't wait to unveil the other masterpieces around the island!"Latest
