St. Kitts and Nevis welcomes the service of Delta Flight

St Kitts and Nevis: On (20th November), St. Kitts and Nevis welcomed Delta Flight 1986 to the Federation from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Delta Flight is the first flight of its kind to the Federation since the reopening of our borders, bringing residents and tourists.

This rekindled flight route further supports the government's phased approach to reopening the tourism industry safely and efficiently.

On March 20th, Delta Air Lines has announced an ambitious extension to its summer flying program. The airline is extending service at popular outdoor-destinations to help match leisure travel demand. The onset of the COVID pandemic has to lead most visitors to gather to the extraordinary destinations that allow for broad, free outdoor spaces. Over the winter, airlines concentrated expansion on ski destinations such as Montrose/Telluride and seaside destinations like Miami. Yet, for the summer, expansions concentrate on forest fields and the northeast shore. Under the expansion plans, Delta restarted several global routes to the Caribbean region. It started on June 5, and the following ways continued; Grand Cayman-St. Kitts, Roatan, and Bonaire.

Additionally, St. Kitts will regained Saturday-only flights to Atlanta and New York’s JFK. Both Roatan and Bonaire will restart thrice-weekly service to Atlanta.

The expansion by Delta matches other airlines’ ambitious plans for the upcoming summer season. Travellers favour leisure, outdoor destinations for trips and business travel have still not recovered and will likely be slow to return. Early in the year, the airline declared expansion plans to Alaska for the upcoming summer.

The announcement matches those plans to the lower 48 of the United States. Delta’s extension is focusing on improving connectivity through the airline’s centres. Numerous destinations will now have joined options on both shores, offering more choices for travellers. The airline hopes that by providing more opportunities, travellers will be more likely to choose them for their leisure travel. Additional airlines are making alike moves across their networks, but for now, Delta seems to be the most aggressive in its expansion plans.
