St Kitts and Nevis Sports Commission extends ‘International Women’s Day' wishes

Ahead of the special day for women, the Women in Sport Commission (WSC) of St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) wished all the women of the Federation a happy ‘International Women’s Day 2022’.
As per the press release by the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the SKNOC stated, “In acknowledgement of International Women’s Day on March 8th, the women in Sport Commission of St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee is sending special greetings to all the women and girls of our Federation Happy International Women’s Day.”
Like every year, in 2022, the day would be marked under a specific hashtag - #BreakTheBias.
The theme has been emphasized by the President of SKNOC and the Chairperson of the Women in Sport Committee. The SKNOC President – Alphonso Bridgewater, outlined, “This theme seeks to encourage actions towards building a world that is more equitable and inclusive. We call on everyone to join in the move to push for non-discrimination and equal representation at the decision making tables.”
He further stated, “In specific alignment with this theme, we recognize and celebrate the elected female executives of our National Sports Associations. Let us rally behind these progressive ladies as they continue to positively impact our Federation with their meaningful contributions at the decision-making table and by making their voices heard.”
Meanwhile, the WSC chairperson – Jennifer Nero, underscored, “When women and men have equally empowered the entire community benefits. Together we can create a gender Federation by committing to #BreakTheBias”.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 across the globe every year. This theme for this year’s day is – “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. This year, the day will be celebrated through a virtual event hosted by the United Nations.Latest
