St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, along with other members of the Federal Cabinet, unveiled the fully furnished, climate-smart model homes in Conaree and Taylor's constituency. The official reveal of these two-bedroom houses marks a remarkable achievement of the administration in terms of affordable housing.  The home in Conaree was presented to Shamarah Huggins, while the climate-smart home at Taylor's was presented to Belinda Buchanan. These houses are being built through a collaboration between the East Coast Housing Development Ltd and the National Housing Corporation. While sharing the glimpses of the unveiling ceremony, PM Drew said, "These mark a progressive move by the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Administration." The Prime Minister added that in a heartwarming gesture, the keys to these families were handed over to deserving individuals—Shamarah Huggins of Conaree and Belinda Buchanan of Taylor's. The historic unveiling ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley who also serves as the Minister of Human Settlement. The Chief Executive Officer of East Coast Housing Development Ltd, Bryan Singh and representatives from NHC were also in attendance. The East Coast Housing Development Ltd has partnered with the National Housing Corporation in St Kitts to construct homes as part of the government's housing solution. During the ceremony, the NHC's General Manager, Jonelle Rawlins said that the ceremony marked a major milestone in the collective journey towards redefining the landscape of housing development in St Kits and Nevis. She also noted that the two model houses and the 2000-plus houses that will follow in the coming years are being described as smart, and they incorporate more than technological features.  Rawlins outlined that while these climate-smart model homes certainly incorporate advanced construction technology and materials and their smartness extends beyond the digital realm to surround a holistic approach to sustainability, efficiency as well as the quality of life.  In addition to this, Deputy PM Dr Hanley highlighted that "Together we are shaping the future of housing" and described the homes as a haven for the families who secured these affordable homes.
