St. Kitts and Nevis PM Drew becomes 1st CARICOM leader to visit BAPS Hindu Mandir

The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew had the honour to be the first CARICOM leader to visit the prestigious BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. He visited the temple last week during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

While sharing glimpses of his visit on his official Facebook account, PM, Drew said, “I had the honor to be the first CARICOM leader to visit BAPS Hindu Mandir, Abu Dhabi.”

It is the first stone constructed Hindu Temple in the Middle East region and is a symbol of love, harmony and peace.

During his visit, PM Terrance Drew also spent time with Brahmavihari Swami, who leads international ties for the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha Hindu organisation. Brahmavihari Swami introduced the leader to the temple and the deities.

The Prime Minister also praised the government of UAE and said, “The UAE, by gifting the land for the Temple, has demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity and tolerance - an example for all.”

As he shared glimpses of himself in the temple, social media users lauded him for showing the world his omnism.

“Prime Minister/Sir. There's never a dull moment with you. Who Jah Bless will be forever victorious in their good deeds,” wrote a user named Livingstone Buchanan, while another user said, “Might God thank you for Dr Terrance Drew.”

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s trip to the UAE was multifaceted. He also hosted a luncheon with stakeholders of the CBI program, promoting and repositioning St. Kitts and Nevis as a premium opportunity.

He also discussed the new regulations, best practices, and due diligence processes related to the program, including the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed between St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and Grenada. In addition to this, he also held several major discussions about securing funds for the geothermal project in the island nation. The Prime Minister is working hard to make the sustainable island state vision a reality in the near future.
