Siemens and K&K Group signs MoU for green energy in St. Kitts and Nevis, PM Drew expresses confidence

The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr. Terrance Drew on Thursday attended the signing of a significant Memorandum of Understanding between Siemens and the K&K Group in Dubai. The MoU aimed at exploring the development of the green energy sector in the Federation.
According to the information, this significant signing ceremony took place at the Siemens Office at the Expo Pavilion in Dubai. PM Drew is currently on an official visit to the UAE during which he is exploring various opportunities to build St. Kitts and Nevis towards the Sustainable Island State.
Both the Siemens and the K&K Group are very reputable firms of the United Arab Emirates and the K&K Group is led by Dr. Tejeddine Seif.
Following the signing of the MoU, PM Terrance Drew said that the partnership between Siemens and the K&K Group with the Federation represents hope in the country’s quest to build a more resilient, sustainable and climate smart future.
Earlier this week, the Kittitian leader also engaged in an important meeting with the K&K Group, during which he talked about securing funds for the groundbreaking geothermal energy project in the Federation.
PM Drew lauded the investment firm and said that this partnership marks a huge step towards the country’s commitment to renewable energy. In addition to this, the Prime Minister also explained that the clean energy project aims to harness the naturally occurring geothermal resources to produce renewable power that is clean.
He added that this will further benefit the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis, and the project is one for the history books and will enable the country to significantly reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.
The leader also mentioned that during the development phase of the project, the administration will work on creating new employment opportunities while driving economic growth and boosting sustainable development across both islands of St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean region.
While expressing his confidence in this strategic collaboration, Prime Minister Drew said that he would provide more information on this momentous development once he returned to the country.
