After Al-Jazeera released its documentary on alleged passport scandal of the Caribbean region, social media is going insane with numerous posts either supporting or imposing the content. One such post which was circulated on social media was a brochure named ‘The Scandal’.
As per social media enthusiasts, the brochure was created before the launch of the video, and after opposition leader, Lennox Linton signed an MoU fixing a deal of selling a diplomatic passport for as much as USD 400,000 to a Philippine-based businessman. The brochure claimed that the current DLP government is running out a scandal and earning millions by the sales of diplomatic passports to criminals.
However, after this, another brochure that surfaced the internet claimed to be the original brochure showcasing Lennox Linton and UWP’s agenda of running their campaigns through the money received from the sale of ‘Dominican Passports’.
The following brochure named ‘UWP Passport Scandal’ contains details of the UWP delegation that went to Zurich Switzerland to fix a deal with some wealthy men for ‘Dominican Passports’. United Workers Party members sold around four Dominican passports and money was received by them through various transactions on several accounts associated with party members.
The information states that the money was used by the United Workers Party to support their then election campaigns. The brochure further gives details of the accounts where the passport receivers transferred the money.
