Roosevelt Skerrit named among top 5 Most Influential, Impactful Leaders of 2023

Prime Minister Skerrit's efforts have garnered international acclaim, he has been vocal about the challenges faced by Small Island Development States not just in the Caribbean, but around the world.
Dominica is also driving a modernization agenda to further propel its growth, with priority being given to the construction of a geothermal energy plant and a new international airport, stressed the website.It also mentioned that the Government of Dominica has signed an agreement with MMCE Development Limited to officially break ground on the highly anticipated International Airport, which is set to open in 2025.

The website also noted that PM Skerrit's influence extends beyond mere power. It added that PM Skerrit deeply affects every individual's life in his country, overcoming challenges and forging paths of progress and prosperity.
Housing Initiative - Dominica
Dominica is working towards becoming the "World's First Climate Resilient Nation", to achieve the target, the Government is building over 5000 resilient homes. The homes being constructed in the various parts of the islands includes two bedroom and three bedroom units. The beneficiaries are selected on the basis of priority, listing the victims of "Hurricane Maria" and "Tropical Storm Erika" on top.

Recently, the Government also distributed an additional 73 homes ahead of Christmas, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit referred to it as the "most meaningful gift for Christmas".

While speaking at the assembly, just a few days after the tragic Hurricane Maria, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit "in tears" asked the world leaders take some action to sort the climate crises.
