Rich- countries are holding vaccine supply chains, says PM Harris
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris discussed the coronavirus crisis in the recent monthly-press conference.

The Prime Minister stated that the government aims to inoculate 70% of the entire population as the target population remains to be people over the age of 18.
He added that since February 22, 2021, the health department had vaccinated only 24% of the target population.

He also asked people to get vaccinated so that the country can return back to normalcy and people gets back on their jobs like they used to before the pandemic.
St Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister further added that there is a global shortage of coronavirus vaccine, and there has been a rise in vaccine nationalism.

Talking about the recent meeting with OECS heads and WHO Chief, PM Timothy Harris stated he discussed the specific reach of vaccine for the region.
PM Harris stated that St Kitts and Nevis have a sufficient supply of coronavirus vaccine, and all those who received the first dose can be easily inculcated with the second-dose.
"While the vaccine is available, all of us must take active steps to get vaccinated," added PM Harris.

Prime Minister also applauded the efforts of the ministry of health for making all eleven health-centres available for vaccine drives to make the shots more accessible to people.
He stated that people who could not get vaccinated on weekdays can get their shots at the Basseterre Health Centre, New-Town health centres on Saturday.
