St. Kitts and Nevis: The renovations are underway in Nevis for the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC). Such a construction was much required as the country is preparing to host the events at the place during the Nevis Culturama Festival.
This has become possible with the efforts of the Premier, Mark Brantley as Nevis Performing Arts Centre has been facing issues like leakages and other difficulties that got worsen with the passing time.
The major works that are going at the place are to fix the defects in the roof because the water used to settle there and further to seep into the auditorium. Not only this, some lighting and electrical issues as well are to be fixed.
The major issues were striking at the Performing Arts Centre, certain difficulties being faced were regarding the air conditioning facilities and the units even had not been changed from the times of its establishment. Till now, their life has come to an end.
Considerably, the project will be carried forward by The Finished Touch Limited to work on the air conditioning system. And, the Premier Mark Brantley has mentioned to the public that the contractors Surrey Paving will execute the construction remediation as they are aware about the work they have done.
Nevis Performing Arts Centre has been closed for the several past months due to all the construction works going on. And, the Nevis Island Administration has made a substantial investment so the NEPAC facility can be taken to the highest structural and aesthetic standards.
Considering this, the Surrey Paving added, “I think it was in the region of $300,000. It is a very significant investment to get that NEPAC situation with the roof fixed.”
It has been anticipated that the country will spend between 1 to 1.5 million dollars for the repair of the NEPAC. And, the premier has even mentioned that it is expected that the arts performing center will be ready for Culturama on its 50th anniversary.
