PM Rowley & Kamla Persad pays condolences to Maraval family members
Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago and Main opposition leader Kamla Persad Bissessar paid deepest condolences to the family members of Maraval who lost three children lives in a fire on 26th July 2021.

Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago and Main opposition leader Kamla Persad Bissessar paid deepest condolences to the family members of Maraval who lost three children lives in a fire on 26th July 2021.
Notably, people who lost their lives are - are 17-year-old Ezekiel Burke, 6-year-old Kate Burke, and 3-year-old Kaydon Burke.
Prime Minister Keith Rowley said, " To the parents, all members of the family and our national community, please accept our deepest sympathy from my family to yours. "
He added, "Tonight, every parent can imagine the pain which accompanies the horrible circumstances surrounding the death of those three youngsters. "
PM further noted, " May you find the strength to endure, knowing that we are here for you in this period of shock, grief and incomprehensible loss.
Opposition leader Kamla Persad said, "This is a sad day for our country. I wish to also offer my support to the men and women of our Fire Services who continue to serve our nation in what is a dangerous and difficult job.
In addition, the Whole Caribbean, including Trinidad and Tobago, are in deeper trauma, and people have paid their support to those families in this tougher time.
Fareeda Sookoo, a resident of Trinidad and Tobago, said, " My deepest condolences go out to the whole family; my prayers are with you all during this sad and emotional time. May the family find the courage and strength to Carry on their everyday life."
Dramatic videos started sharing on social media, early this morning, showing many persons attempting to rescue the 3 children who were still trapped in the house at Rookery Nook in Maraval, after a fire broke out there.
When fire officers finally got fire under control & went into the building, the body of a 17-year-old male was spotted in the gallery of the house. The area reportedly was surrounded by burglar-proofing, and it is believed that he was helpless to escape. That victim has been recognised as Ezekiel Burke.
Firefighters also found the body of a three-year-old male in one of the front rooms, who has been identified as Kaydon Burke. They found the body of a 6-year-old female to the back of the house, who has since been identified as Kate Burke.
An investigation has been triggered; also, fire officers are expecting to determine and confirm soon precisely what had caused the fire that began to the children’s deaths.
