PM Roosevelt Skerrit visits DCP successor, condemns unfair trading practices in Jamaica
Prime minister of Dominica Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit visited the DCP- Successor soap manufacturing company with cabinet members.

Prime minister of Dominica Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit visited the DCP- Successor soap manufacturing company with cabinet members. He was also accompanied by Ms. Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliament representative from Roseau Central.
Prime Minister and other cabinet members toured all across the factory, including the manufacturing and storage units.
Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that DCP-Successor manufactures soap and exports all across the region. He noted the factory was closed down due to the massive hurricanes; however, it is now under a new administration and is owned by a local Dominican.
READ MORE RECENT NEWS HERESoap is the major exporter for Dominica and generates extensive investment for the country to keep the economy afloat. The DCP- Successor company is a massive structure that employs several locals of the country.
"They have made tremendous progress thus far, notwithstanding the challenges faced largely because of unfair trading practices which have been promoted in Jamaica," stated PM Skerrit.
He stated Dominica and Jamaica share very good relations, and he continues to promote fair trading practices.
READ MORE RECENT NEWS HEREPrime Minister emphasized that the company also makes "soap chips" that are exported to Jamaica s. He stated the soaps being manufactured in Dominica are genuine CARICOM soaps, with all of the production elements being carried-out within Dominica.
Prime Minister acknowledged the role of DCP-Successor company in the employment sector of the country and stated all the different units of the manufacturing of soaps have employed local Dominicans and keeping many families operated.

The company has also made global brands under contract, including Palmolive, Protex, Jergens, Dial, Tone, Imperial Leather, to name a few.
