Commissioner of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Ian Queeley, has been sent on further leave by Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr Timothy Harris.
According to credible information, Commissioner Queeley who was expected to return to his duties on January 15, 019, has received a letter informing him that he is to continue on further leave until October or November 2019.
Commissioner Queeley went on vacation on October 1, 2018 and was scheduled to return to office on November 3, 2018, but the Human Resource Department in the Office of Prime Minister Harris hastily despatched a letter to Queeley extending his vacation to January 15, 2019.
Queeley reportedly received another letter this time extending further leave to November 2019.
In October 2018, when Dr. Harris sent Commissioner Queeley on vacation leave during the presence of the RSS, scores of police officers and persons across the communities were of the view that Queeley may not return to his post.
"Our Police Force is fast becoming a political arm of the Team Unity government. It seems to be all about Dr. Harris' dirty politics," said a male constable, who requested anonymity for fear of persecution in October 2018.
