The harrowing case of two American women who were drugged and raped during their stay in the Bahamas has caught the attention of many and has taken another turn as details regarding the case continue to pour in daily.
It is to be noted that the women were identified as Dongayla Dobson and Amber Shearer, both 31 were attacked by uniformed staff during their trip from Carnival Cruises ship. The horrifying incident took place on February 4 at Pirate’s Cove beach resort on Grand Bahama.
According to the reports, the nurse who has helped two Kentucky women, who were physically abused and tortured revealed that she found both the women in “Horrible shambles” with torn bathing suits, bruises and other injuries.
Additional details of the incident
LaDonna Batty (nurse) was drinking near the beach where Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson were relaxing on February 1. The three were on a Carnival cruise and had stopped to disembark at a resort called Pirate's Cove on Grand Bahama Island.
The staff of the resort asked them to wait for some time and in the meanwhile, they offered them some drinks. Allegedly their drinks were spiked or some form of intoxicant due to which they were not coherent enough to keep themselves safe.
In due course of time, one of the staff members of the resort took them to an unknown place where they noted the two other men, who were already there and they raped them.
Batty, who treated the two Kentucky mothers gave her statement that both of the travellers were drugged and abused physically and their bathing suits were ripped off. She found them with bruises everywhere on their bodies.
Furthermore, she added that the duo was traumatized and out of consciousness as they cried and vomited. “There’s no chance that anything was made up. You can’t make up puking everywhere and trembling and being scared to death. That’s not something you just make up” remarked the nurse.
Moreover, Pirates Cove has indicated that surveillance footage from its Grand Bahama property on the day of the incident contradicts the victims' accounts. Noting this, the video had been given to the local police.
