Guyana: Marijuana with a significant quantity of 667 grammes found in the house in Cane Grove in Guyana on June 13, 2024.
Having found such an amount of Marijuana, the police in regional division 4C are taking the required actions. The officials conducted a cordon and search exercise on June 13 between 10 am to 12 am at the dwelling house of a 26 years old housewife of Patwah Scheme/ Long Dam, Cane Grove and East Coast Demerara.
As per the reports, it has come forwards that while the investigations were going, the officials found a bulky plastic bag that contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be Cannabis in a plastic barrel in the upper flat.
She further was told of the allegations by the police for the drug substances found. As well, she was arrested and escorted to Mahaica Police Station, where the suspected Cannabis was weighed and amounted to 667 grammes.
Then, the suspect was placed in custody and is slated to be charged. So frequently, such cases come into light in countries like Guyana. One of the cases discovered over 3000 grams of marijuana just a few months back abandoned the house at Grove, East Bank Demerara.
These were found inside the barrels and there were about nine bulky transparent plastic parcels that contained leaves, seeds and stems of Cannabis. These were removed and were taken to the Grove Police Station.
Considerably, Cannabis is illegal in Guyana for all its uses, is both grown and consumed in the nation. The incidents of discovered marijuana justifies such a mentioned statement.
In the country, the amount of just 30 grammes or less of Cannabis is legal. The quantity found more than such quantity with any of the person or its property is liable for the legal actions to be taken.
