Dominica Labour Party recently organised an event in La Plaine parliamentary constituency in the wake of general elections of small Caribbean Island Dominica. The event was held to publicise party's La Plaine candidate Kent Edwards.
During the event, Roseau Central parliamentary constituency candidate and wife of current Prime Minister, Melissa Skerrit said her roots are planted in La Plaine because her grandfather is from the same town.
"The revelations that have come out about Linton and UWP have been distressing and embarrassing for all Dominicans as a whole. People are now thanking God for letting them escape before it was too late for them and their families," said Mrs Skerrit.
According to her, she have come this event to demand an apology from opposition and UWP leader Lennox Linton for lying to the minister of Gospel Mr McClurkin by telling him that it was unsafe for him and his band to come in Dominica.
As per sources, Lennox Linton sent a written letter to Mr McClurkin and encouraged him not to visit Dominica as it is unsafe.
Melissa Skerrit demanded an apology from Lennox Linton for blatantly tarnishing the image of Dominica. Not only that Mrs Skerrit accused Linton of his intentions to stop a gospel concert planned for the prosperity of the country.
"Does he not want God to bless us here in Dominica?" asked Mrs Skerrit.
