A number of islands in the Caribbean were shaken by a minor earthquake on Saturday, just before attention turned to celebrating the end of 2017.
The quake had a magnitude of 4.7, according to the Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC), part of the University of the West Indies.
The tremors occurred at around 11.14pm local time, and were felt 42 miles (68km) east of St Kitts and Nevis capital Basseterre, as well as 24 miles (39km) north-west of St John’s in Antigua and Barbuda.
The depth of the earthquake is understood to be 50 miles (81km).
There were no reports of any damage of casualties from the disturbance.
The latest quake comes shortly after 4.7 magnitude tremours jolted Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, with the effects being felt as far as Venezuela.
