Man found dead with brutal marks of violence and slit throat in Trinidad
According to the information by police officials, the deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Derrick Harrynath, also known as Roger. Reportedly, he was a resident of Krishna Gardens, Berridge Trace, Mon Desir Road in South Oropouche in Trinidad.

Trinidad and Tobago: The lifeless body of a man was found severely beaten, shot up with his throat slit in South Oropouche on Monday, May 20, 2024.
According to the information by police officials, the deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Derrick Harrynath, also known as Roger. Reportedly, he was a resident of Krishna Gardens, Berridge Trace, Mon Desir Road in South Oropouche in Trinidad.
It is said that the victim’s cousins reportedly went to check on him after he was not seen or heard from, and many calls to his phone went unanswered.
When they arrived at his home around 10 in the morning, they looked through a window on the east side of the house and saw him slumped against a wall. One of them subsequently climbed through another window and saw that he was motionless and had gunshot wounds to his chest while his throat was also found to be slit.
The relatives immediately contacted the police officers and reported the severe incident to them. First responders SGT Ganesh and PC Ramdath responded along with District Medical Officer Dr Maharaj, arrived at the scene and declared Harrynath dead, following which they removed the body from the scene and rushed it to the Forensic Science Centre.
The police stated that the body is awaiting a post-mortem to confirm the reason for the victim’s death. Meanwhile, CSI personnel, PC Buchoon, and PC Telesford, also visited the scene and recovered two spent 9mm shells.
It is also said that Harrynath last talked to his cousin around 8 am on Sunday, and police have not yet found any motive for his death.
In addition to this, the officials from the Homicide Bureau of Investigation of Region 3 said that they are investigating the matter and are looking for the suspects who carried out this brutal act.
Meanwhile, the citizens and residents of the country took to social media to lament over the current situation of the island.
“My God, look what Trinidad and Tobago have become…. very frustrating, frightening, and scary situations. One is safe anymore. Please, Lord Jesus, put a hand on,” wrote a user named Aqua Marina, while another user said, “What really going on in Trinidad this month every day is something…..demons on a killing spree.”
