Man fatally shot in broad daylight in Saint Lucia's Gros Islet
Saint Lucia: A Young man around his twenties shot dead at Dauphin Street, Gros Islet Constituency on, Monday around 3 PM.

A Young man around his twenties was shot dead in broad day light at at Dauphin Street, Gros Islet Saint Lucia, on Monday.
The cause of the murder remains unknwon as the authorities are trying to uncover the truth by investigating and questioning the eyewitnesses. As per authorities, the incident occured at around 3 PM.
Authorities have also collected several pieces of evidence that can help unveil more facts about the murder.
Further, in the meantime, an ambulance from the Saint Lucia Fire Rescue Unit also arrived at the scene to take the victim to the hospital. Upon their arrival, they found the body with vital signs. They even called the doctor and undertook several efforts. Despite their continuous efforts, they found no change, and the doctor pronounced the man dead.
Reportedly, This incident marked the fourth Homicide in Saint Lucia in just 15 days of 2024. The Homicide rates are increasing in the country gradually, and the Police are making a continuous effort to resolve the ongoing condition.
The Police also urged the communities to help and cooperate actively with them in their investigative processes and bring justice to the lost lives.
Other recent incidents at Gros Islet
Similarly on the same day, a similar incident came to light near Rodney Bay Marina after midnight around 1 AM. Four unidentified males extended fire on a young couple. The Police are actively investigating the group and trying to clarify this uncleared and unsettled tragic incident. While, Earlier on Saturday, another shooting incident took place at the Gros Islet at night. The constituency members founded the body, who called the Police immediately. The Police officials responded to the call immediately and arrived at the location at 12 AM. Community Reactions Several community members on social media reacted and expressed their sadness over the increasing crime rate in the country. A user mentioned, "So many young men are being killed, leaving children fatherless". "Why do we only rest in peace? Why don't we live in peace, too?
