Leslie Mondesir appointed as Attorney General of St Lucia

Currently, Attorney-at-law - Mr Leslie Mondesir, sworn in as the Attorney General of Saint Lucia on July 30.

Saint Lucia: The newly elected Prime Minister - Philip J. Pierre of Saint Lucia has started his work with full enthusiasm. PM Pierre appointed Mr Leslie Mondesir as the new Attorney General of the island country.

Currently, Attorney-at-law - Mr Leslie Mondesir, sworn in as the Attorney General of Saint Lucia on July 30.

Mondesir, who is going to serve in the Cabinet of Ministers as the Chief Legal Advisor, has 21 years of experience as a practising attorney.

Despite this, Ms Maundy A. L. Lewis has also been appointed as the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

Ms Lewis earlier was serving as the Communications Officer for the Saint Lucia Labour Party - SLP and would now serve as the chief spokesperson to the Prime Minister.

By maintaining the established tradition, the newly elected Prime Minister also received his Warrant of Appoint assigning, giving him the responsibility for the portfolios of Finance, Economic Development and the Youth Economy.

It is expected that the other Cabinet Ministers would be sworn in at a live-streamed ceremony which would take place at - Mindoo Philip Park next Thursday, August 5, 2021.

The Prime Minister - Philip J. Pierre, took oath on 28 July 2021. Since he assumed his office, PM Pierre met with the Permanent Secretaries and other personnel within the various government ministries to learn about the current situation of St Lucia.

The general elections were held on 26 July 2021 on the seventeen constituencies of the island country, in which the St Lucia Labour Party, with a massive victory, won 13 out of 17 seats.

Pierre is the 8th Prime Minister of the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

The newly elected Prime Minister of St Lucia is having a lot of challenges ahead of him. The citizens of the island country stated that they are having a lot of expectations from PM Pierre.
