According to the reports, the discovery of the newborn was made around 7:30 am on Tuesday as a neighbour saw the house's door open. He went inside to see if someone was there following which he saw the baby and immediately called the police.

Jamaica: A newborn boy was found on the veranda of an empty house in the community of Lime Hall in Guys Hill, St Catherine. The infant, whose umbilical cord was still attached is now at the hospital being medically examined. According to the reports, the baby was recovered at around 7:30 am on Tuesday as a neighbour saw the house's door open. He went inside to see if someone was there following which he saw the baby and immediately called the police.  A team took custody of the infant and took the newborn boy to the Linstead Hospital for medical examination. The matter is being investigated by the police officials in Jamaica, and they are urging the general public for assistance.  Reportedly, the house belonged to Kayon Francis, who rented it out to a family who were not there at the time of the incident.  This bizarre incident has received shocking reactions on the internet, with users expressing disbelief over the parents abandoning their newborn in such a manner. While some also voiced their relief over the baby being alive.  "Thank God he is alive. At least they didn't kill him. I pray he finds a good family to love him unconditionally," wrote a user named Tameika Bryan. Another user named Sher Allen called the incident 'serious' and addressed the government while saying, "I think the government need to pass legislation, were every child foot print need to be on record,for reasons like these.To locate the mother easier." A user named Wilkinson urged the community people to conduct a search and said, "Launch a community hunt as the mother must be known to someone in the community. How can some of these monsters of females be so wicked? Bring it come someone somewhere will take custody of it. You leave it to die, wicked." Meanwhile, a user named Smickle also prayed for the mother. She said, "Whatever may be her situation, I hope and pray she'll be able to sort herself out, but thank God she left him where he could be found."
