It is possible to get back to thriving tourism industry in 2021: PM Roosevelt Skerrit
PM Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the coronavirus vaccine can lead Dominica back on the road to a vibrant and thriving tourism industry in 20201.

"The World Health Organisation continues to advise of the safety of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine," added PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
Further sharing the vaccine status of Dominica, Prime Minister stated that more than 15,000 people have successfully received the first dose of the vaccine.
Also read: Dominica: Why work from home when you can work from the “Nature Island”The Dominican Prime Minister added that in order to achieve herd immunity, it is eminent to immunise around 70% of the entire population. He stated the vaccination rate is required to revive the tourism activity.
Besides this, Prime Minister stated that there are vital signs from cruise-lines that vaccination will be an essential consideration for the resumption of cruise-calls.

"It is important for us to get vaccinated and prepare ourselves for the eventual return of tourism in full swing," PM Dr Roosevelt Skerrit.
The primary health-care team of Dominica are also moving around the island to ensure more people can take advantage of the country's immunisation drive.
He advised people to get vaccinated and consider every Dominican's well-being and livelihood, particularly those who depend on the tourism sector to make a living.
Furthermore, he noted that it is possible to get back to vibrant, thriving tourism industry in 2021 because Dominica has done significantly well in handling the pandemic. He added that 950 million dollars had been invested in the hotel industry of the country.Prime Minister stated that the government is taking various measures to control the spread of the virus.
