Irate St Kitts-Nevis students at UVI complain gov't not paying scholarships

Irate St Kitts and Nevis students studying at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) are complaining that their scholarships are not being paid by the Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government in Basseterre.
"Hey Obi, Why is it that the St Kitts and Nevis Government has not yet sent the scholarship monies for students from since last semester? This resulting in numerous Kittitian and Nevisian students being sent notice TODAY from the University of the Virgin Islands to pay the outstanding fees of approx US$10,000.00 by TODAY," said the reposting received by Washington-based Nevisian, Everton "Obi" Elliott.
"These are fees that the scholarship agreed upon should have been covering.
Do they realise that without these said fees students cannot register for next semester, and those that are set to graduate will not receive their certificates even after they have graduated? With finals coming up shortly this is not something they should want these students worrying about," said the person who provided the information.
The individual pointed out: "Bear in mind they are hoping that these same students would come back to build the federation."
A bill was attached to the posting.
