Guyana welcomes international cricketers with bhangra beats ahead of ICC T20 World Cup
The tournament which is a symbol of unity, sportsmanship and celebration of cricket among all cultures is all set to take place from June 2, 2024 onwards.

The exclusive performance by the Indian community in Guyana on Punjab’s national folk dance Bhangra that too on a Punjabi song showcases the small country’s respect for all cultures and traditions across the world. The performers were dressed in national dresses of Punjab which complimented the whole performance.
Following the brief entertainment, the teams then headed to the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown, which they will call home for the next few days.
The schedule of ICC T20 World Cup matches to be held in Guyana is as follows:
June 2 - West Indies vs Papua New Guinea June 3 - Afghanistan vs Uganda June 5 - Papua New Guinea vs Uganda June 7 - New Zealand vs Afghanistan June 8 - West Indies vs Uganda June 26 - Semi FinaleAs the authorities welcomed the teams with a grand celebration at the airport, the social media users lauded them for this gesture.
“What a wonderful welcoming.that is why I love Guyana so much,” wrote a user named Mahadaye Mohammed while another user wrote, “Amazing great put together by minister Charles and his hard working staff at ministry of sports.”
