Grenada's 2022 budget to announce this Friday

Hon. Gregory Bowen will present the 2022 budget on coming Friday, November 26, 2021, his second since assuming the office of Minister for Finance. The budget presentation will take place at Parliament Building, Mt. Wheldale, at 10:00 a.m.

Grenada's 2022 budget to announce this Friday
Grenada: Hon. Gregory Bowen will present the 2022 budget on coming Friday, November 26, 2021, his second since assuming the office of Minister for Finance. The budget presentation will take place at Parliament Building, Mt. Wheldale, at 10:00 a.m.

This is the 5th Session of the 10th Parliament, and members of the House of Representatives will witness the presentation in person. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited number of representatives from the business community, social partners, the diplomatic corps and other stakeholder groups will be accommodated at the Parliament House. The general public at the home and in the diaspora is encouraged to join the live coverage on GIS TV and all radio, television and social media entities broadcasting the live feed.

The Ministry of Finance is currently making final preparations for what is expected to be a budget that is strategic in bringing the country out of the pandemic, focusing primarily on “protecting lives, safe-guarding livelihoods and investing in the growth and development” - the theme for this year’s budget presentation. On the other hand- the Ministry of Education, Grenada noted that Permanent Secretary with responsibility for Human Resource Development, Religious Affairs and Information, Norman Gilbert with Industrial Arts teacher at Westerhall Secondary School who teaches General Construction Level One for CVQ to the students and General Construction Level Two for CVQ to adults in the community. It’s all in keeping with the ministry’s plan to increase the skills level of the people in the country. Additionally, Grenada has witnessed various meetings with other leaders for the development of the nation; recently, Consul General of Grenada in the UAE, Ms Rose-Ann Benjamin and Mr Maroun Chammas Honorary Consul of Grenada in Lebanon visited the Grenada Pavilion at Dubai EXPO 2020 and met with Mrs Shanta Cox, Grenada's Expo Commissioner-General.
