America based ultra low-cost Frontier Airlines is all set to commence its new services to Puerto Rico. The airline is vowing to offer fares as low as US$29 for one way flight from San Juan to Trinidad.
The development was announced a day after the regional carrier Caribbean Airlines announced new services on the same route. While this airline will be beginning services from July 14, Frontier Airlines said that they will commence the new service on July 11, giving a major competition to the local airline.
According to the information, Frontier Airlines is planning to fly nonstop between Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico. The flight will operate thrice a week through its Airbus A320 aircraft.
While announcing the development on Facebook, the airline said, “Starting July 11th, you’ll be able to fly nonstop from Aeropuerto Internacional Luis Muñoz Marín – SJU to Piarco International Airport. We are so excited to offer service between these two stunning destinations. This brings our total routes ⇄ SJU to 28. Fares from $29*.”
The airline said that it would fly on Sundays, Thursdays, and Fridays with flight number F9281, departing from Puerto Rico at 12:11 pm and arriving in Trinidad at 2:02 pm. Meanwhile, the return flight will depart Port of Spain at 3:14 pm and will arrive in Puerto Rico at 5:07 pm.
The airline will commence its operations once getting approval from the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.
It is to be noted that Frontier Airlines is the latest airline in Trinidad and Tobago’s aviation sector but provides its services to 11 other destinations in the Caribbean region from Puerto Rico. Trinidad and Tobago will be the 12th destination of the Frontier Airlines.
While announcing the expansion of its regional network, Josh Flyr, the Network and Operations Design VP of the airline, said that the team is delighted to start serving passengers as they travel to and from Trinidad, which is the latest addition in the fast-expanding operations across the region.
He added that by providing affordable and convenient travel services to Port of Spain, the team is thrilled to be a valuable partner in the vital and vibrant tourism industry of the Caribbean.
