Four people have been stabbed and one person was shot along the New York Caribbean Carnival Parade route earlier today.

The injuries to two victims in separate incidents were not life-threatening, according to fire officials.

WIC News has been unable to confirmed the conditions of the other two stabbing victims.

The gunshot victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, fire officials said.

Police said the shooting victim was hit in the torso and taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Manic scenes

The shooting happened at 4.47pm local time between New York and Brooklyn Avenues in Crown Heights.

All four stabbings happened around the Brooklyn Museum, close to where the parade ends.

Witnesses said people screamed and crowds knocked over barriers to get away from the bedlam. Several young men sprinted through the crowd and police followed.

“They jumped someone," said a woman who ran off without giving her name.

An MC reportedly barked from a nearby float: “Every time we do this your foolishness ruins the carnival!"

In another incident, authorities reported that a person fell from a float.
