The Ministry of Tourism has shared the latest protocols and has advised the cabinet to follow them before entering the Commonwealth of Dominica.
According to the protocols announced by the Ministry of Tourism, passengers must follow the following compulsory requirements before entering the country –
- All travellers should complete a health questionnaire online prior to arrival in Dominica, available at the official site. (If travellers experience difficulty in completing the form online prior to boarding, it must be completed on arrival in Dominica).
- Upload a negative PCR test result from a swab taken within 72 hours prior to arrival or upload pre-arrival negative Rapid Antigen Test result from a swab taken within 48 hours prior to expected arrival time into Dominica; and upload vaccination certificate.
QR Code shall be generated automatically upon submission of the form, and travellers must present Negative PCR test result from a swab taken within 72 hours prior to arrival or Negative Rapid Antigen Test result from a swab taken 48 hours prior to expected arrival time into Dominica to airlines or other travel carriers before boarding and upon disembarkation in Dominica.
Fully vaccinated travellers shall present confirmation of complete health questionnaire (QR Code).
QR Code shall be scanned to validate two certificates - Negative PCR test result OR Negative Rapid Antigen Test results, and vaccination certificate.
The Ministry of Tourism further claimed that the revised protocols would be applied to vaccinated travellers to Dominica by air and sea. The Ministry further clarified that the protocols for the un-vaccinated citizens would remain unchanged.
“Removal of the limit on number of passengers per ferry call allowed to disembark in Dominica and the number of weekly calls to Dominica,” the Ministry further announced.
The Tourism Minister further explained the consequences if the Rapid Antigen test and vaccination certificate would not be validated.
According to the notification by the Ministry, “If the test is not validated, the traveller will be required to have a Rapid Antigen test at the airport. The traveller will be deemed medically cleared, as per the receipt of a negative test result.”
“If vaccination certificate is not validated, protocols for non-vaccinated travellers will apply,” it added.“Travellers shall be transferred to Immigration for processing and to Customs for screening,” the Ministry informed.
