Dominica to host Forest Week 2024 with exciting week-long activities
The activities are scheduled to take place from March 18 to 22, with March 21 being designated by the United Nations as the annual International Forest Day.

The Director of the Division Michinton Burton said that the week aims to raise local awareness as well as understanding of forests and protected areas in Dominica.
According to the information, the week of activities will be launched on March 18 at the Botanic Gardens and will continue on March 20 with River Clean up and tree planting at La Ronde River and West Coast.On March 21, a multistakeholder roundtable on forestry management will be hosted at the Dominica State House. The round table discussion will be attended by local beneficiaries, stakeholders and international partners who will exchange experiences and discuss priorities to enhance forestry management in Dominica.Meanwhile, the week will conclude on March 22 with a closing and award ceremony at Cabrits National Park.
Burton said that the events aim to boost cross-sectoral partnerships with local stakeholders and international partners in biodiversity conservation as well as natural resource management.
He also said that as the country is the land of forests and natural treasures, including the heritage site and Morne Trois Piton National Park, these must be protected and promoted.The calendar of events for Dominica Forest Week 2024 is as follows:
