The post-Hurricane Maria curfew in effect for Roseau has remains but the hours have been cute as the city is “returning to a state of normalcy”.
The Ministry of Justice, Immigration and Natural Security have announced that the curfew will now be active between 10pm and 5am, effective from today.
There decision was based on advice from the chief of police.
The move is designed to “facilitate economic activity”, a statement from the ministry said.
It will also “maintain and enhance security”, the release added.
The curfew covers an area from the Loubiere Bridge in the south, Checkhall Bridge in the north and Copthall in the east.
“The city of Roseau is returning to a state of normalcy and security in the city is becoming more stable,” said the statement.
“There is, however, still a need for enhanced security and vigilance.”
