St. Kitts and Nevis: De’Cheynelle Thomas brought laurels to the country by winning the gold medal in the U17 400m category held in Grenada under Whitsuntide Games. These are organised every year by the Grenada Athletic Association (GAA).
She bagged the position with a phenomenal time of 56.79 seconds and with this, she not only won the race but also secured her place among the fastest young athletes in the region and the world.
The stadium buzzed with excitement as De’Cheynelle crossed the finish line ahead of everyone. Her speed and determination was evident in every stride. She competed against some of the best in her age group, however, remained focused and executed her race plan to perfection.
Her victory is the outcome to the player’s hard work, dedication, and talent. With such a remarkable achievement, she made her family and the nation proud. The whole nation is celebrating her victory, and is congratulating the winner.
The sports Minister, Samal Duggins expressed the pride for her through his remarkable words. “I wish to proudly congratulate De’Cheynelle Thomas on winning gold. The achievement ranks her among the fastest in the region and world. Well done. De’Cheynelle,” mentioned the Minister.
Along with her, the minister also congratulated Akanye Samuel-Francis for securing second position. He marked the second fastest time of 49.59 seconds. “Our athletes have truly performed and represented themselves exceptionally well,” added the minister.
Not only the sport minister, Dr. Denzil Douglas who is foreign Minister as well extended the congrats to the player. “Congratulations on your most recent achievement. Continue to soar and stay focused,” added the Minister.
Significantly, with such an achievement, she made an addition to nation’s and her own achievements, highlighting a remarkable approach towards the success. She, with her great dedication marked her and St. Kitts and Nevis’ recognition all around the world.
