Sint Maarten: A decomposed body of an adult male was in the Dutch Caribbean Island, Sint Maarten, on Thursday (January 18). The Police have been identifying the body and confirming that the deceased body is the same male reported missing earlier.
The Police were dispatched to the Dutch Quarter, Nazareth, immediately at around 5 PM to investigate the decomposing body.
However, due to the developed state decomposition of the body and unsuccessful recovery of any ID proof, the Police were unable to find other essential evidence, and it remained unconfirmed that the dead body was of the same man whose missing report was recorded to the Police from the region on January 4.
Meanwhile, the Detective Division of KPSM (Korps Polite Sint Maarten) has carried out the operation and is processing it actively in the case. It has finally launched forensic analysis. The authorities have assured the people that they are actively engaging in the case and leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to find the cause of his death.
Moreover, earlier on January 6, the missing person report was also recorded in the region. The Missing Report is about a Jamaican national named Jereth Dave Thomas, aged 51 (born on September 9 1973). J.D.Thomas resided at Richards Drive 5, in the Middle Region on St. Maarten. He is approximately 1.80 meters tall, with a thin frame and a dark brown skin complexion.
A concerned family member of J.D Thomas came to the police station in Philipsburg to seek Police and authorities' assistance in the case.
However, after a consistent period of digging deep into the matter, the authorities were unable to recognise the victim as no details or any significant evidence was found about the victim's sudden disappearance.
The Detective division from the KPSM has now taken charge of the matter and has launched a stringent operation to find the victim. The officials have also assured his family members and close ones that they are in complete phase to progress the investigation; further updates will be provided to the public.
