Charles E Mills Secondary wins TDC Interschool Championships for 8th consecutive year

St Kitts and Nevis: The Charles E Mills Secondary School Eagles have proudly won the 2024 TDC Interschool Championships. The team amassed a total of 25 gold medals, 28 silver medals and 15 bronze medals and remains undefeated for eight years in a row. Following the winners, the second place was secured by Charlestown Secondary School Lions, who won 16 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 16 bronze medals, while the Basseterre High School Stormers stood third with 14 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 20 bronze medals. While announcing the results, the SKN Athletics Association congratulated the winners and said, “All of the athletes performed exceptionally well, and their love for the sport and patriotism to their school was exemplified in grand style!” They extended heartfelt congratulations to all athletes and thanked everyone who has lent their support to the first-ever multicity TDS Interschool Championship. “Now the curtains have come to a close and we are already excited to see you in 2025,” outlined the association. Meanwhile, the Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley also took to Facebook to extend his heartful congratulations to the winning team. He said, “I take a moment to express heartiest congratulations to the Charles E Mills Secondary School which came saw and conquered today continuing its domination of high school athletics in St Kitts Nevis.” He also congratulated all other schools and the incredible young athletes who made the officials proud. While making a special mention, Premier Brantley said, “Permit me to mention the Charlestown Secondary School for its 2nd place finish and the much smaller Gingerland Secondary School for its 5th place finish. All of Nevis is proud of you!” Not only this, but the Premier also lauded the Federal Sports Minister Samal Duggins and the Nevis Minister of Sports Troy Liburd and their teams and volunteers who made the event held over 4 days a resounding success. While appreciating them and their hardwork which led to the huge success of the event, Mark Brantley said that as he saw the crowd and the top class execution of this large scale event at the Mondo Track in Nevis, his heart was glad.
