Caribbean: An India-Dubai joint venture is collaborating with the Caribbean to construct a massive tourist attraction in the region. It is believed that the project is already lined up and would be revolutionary for the tourism sector facing the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per preliminary information, investors from Europe and the United Kingdom are all set to bring the magnificent structure into the Caribbean region through a joint venture of India and Dubai. However, it is unclear whether it will be a hotel, a tourist destination or a resort. Still, it is expected that the structure would be exceptionally beautiful and massive in size. The rumoured project is expected to cost more than US $300 million and experts have suggested that once completed, the tourism would boom with a three-fold increase.

As per initial reports, the project is inspired by "The Taj", a famous name in India, taken from the 17th-century structure "Taj Mahal", constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.

The project's location is not disclosed yet, but four Caribbean countries, such as: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St Lucia and St Kitts and Nevis are in the race to get the project. Reports suggest that surveys are ongoing in all four countries to decide the ideal location to represent the beauty of the Caribbean. Once built, the Taj will attract travellers from all over the world and increase tourism in the whole region with its unique infrastructure and extraordinary massive build.

It is expected that with the Taj project cruise-ship tourism will boom in the country where it is constructed. Since 2020, the pandemic has had a devastating impact on the small Caribbean nations, as the region mainly relies on tourism to earn a living.

Once the location is finalized, "The Taj" will become Unique Selling Proposition (USP) for the island. It will not only boost tourism but also provide more extensive opportunities for locals that possess various talents, including dance, singing, restaurants, local cuisines.

The size of the project is still unknown, but it is expected to be an immense and unique structure that will become the particular centre of attraction for travellers across the world. [caption id="attachment_37507" align="aligncenter" width="343"] The Taj Mahal in India[/caption]

WIC News correspondent spoke to some local contractors who also suspect the project to be extensive and also helpful in growing the overall economic structure of the country wherever it is constructed.

In order to get the public's view on the project, locals in all four countries are showing high anticipation as the islands are already facing challenging times due to the pandemic.
