Barbados: On 5 December 2021, Barbados will be the only direct route from Scotland to the Caribbean, as Virgin Atlantic launches their new direct route from Edinburgh (IATA: EDI) to Bridgetown (IATA: BGI, Grantley Adams International Airport), Barbados.

Virgin Atlantic's new flight connecting Scotland with Barbados operates twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, on an Airbus A330. Travellers can choose to fly in one of three cabins, such as the upper class or Premium. Rates start from £ 419 per person. Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Senator Lisa Cummins, greeted the news by stating: "The fact that this fresh route is Scotland's only nonstop flight to the Caribbean is something that everyone in Barbados is proud of.
