Bail for woman arrested with US$44,000 on flight

A woman has been arrested in Guyana on a flight from St Lucia after failing failing to declare more than US$44,000.
She has now been released on bail but WIC News understands she will face further questioning today.Her name is yet to be released but police in the South American country said she was a 36-year-old resident of South Ruimveldt in Georgetown, Guyana.
According to reports, the woman was arrested after being found with US$44,688.
When she arrived at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana on an evening flight she did not declare the cash.
If travellers are carrying over US$10,000 of cash then they are required to declare it.
