Antigua: Some workers to get outstanding money before Christmas

The cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has agreed to provide $1,000,000 to workers of several institutions to meet outstanding payments.

Employees of the Central Board of Health, the National Solid Waste Management Authority, Fiennes, Clareview and Public Works will benefit.

Customs and Excise Department, the Board of Guardians and Foster Parents who have not been paid various allowances and overtime payments are also set to get what they’re owed.

According to the government, truckers who have provided legitimate services – and have not yet been paid — will also receive their money.

The $1,000,000 will be provided from the twin-island country’s citizenship by investment programme, and ought to reach the pockets of the workers before the Christmas holidays according to chief of staff Lionel “Max” Hurst.
