According to documents purportedly sent from the Guarav Sindhi, the resort's general manager, to the general secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union, the period of repairs is hoping to be finished by 17 December.
The letter adds that Sandal's board of directors appreciates the union's "level-headed and responsible approach" to the closure.
It has also been confirmed that one of the hotel chain's senior managers – believed to be chief operations officer Shawn DaCosta – met with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his cabinet regarding the shock closure of the resort.
WIC News has reached out to Sandals and the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union for further information.Latest
