Anti-vaccination protesters in Guadeloupe threw urine at hospital authorities during strike
The anti-vaccination protest turned violent when demonstrators attacked the hospital director along with the other healthcare staff in Guadeloupe

The protesters expressing their aggression threw urine at the officials while tearing the clothes of the deputy general director. The hospital director got unconscious after the attack.
Although on clearing their part, the health workers' union, who organized the protest, underscored that the protesters were seeking to regain lost wages after being suspended for refusing to become vaccinated as mandated by law. Gabriel Attal, the spokesperson of the government, cited the incident as a shameful act, adding that, "It is revolting. It is scandalous. And it is inadmissible in the republic". The government imposed a policy of mandate vaccination, which raged riots in the country. Additionally, on Wednesday, the Guadeloupe government declared a state of a health emergency on the island and the other overseas territories, following a significant increase in the COVID-19 cases and spread of the Omicron variant. This limits the movement of the general public."This is a health catastrophe putting the population's health in danger," the government officials added.
The COVID-19 statistics of the country-As per the data in the reports, since the start of the outbreak in Guadeloupe, a total of 56,515 individuals have contracted the contagious COVID-19 virus. Meanwhile, around 831 COVID-19 patients lost their lives to the viral disease.
In terms of COVID-19 vaccination, the French country has the lowest coverage rate of immunization among the other nations in France, with only 400,000 people vaccinated against COVID-19.Latest
