Trinidad and Tobago: A male was shot and killed at a gas station in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The deceased is identified as Jesten Wendell Supervillem, aged 35, and is also known as Robe and Jesse.
The police said that the victim was a resident of Picton Road, Laventille. It was reported that around 7:50 pm, Superville was pumping fuel in a grey coloured Kia Cerato at the St Christopher Gas Station along the Wrightson Road, Port of Spain when a white coloured Hyundai Elantra having a registered number of PEB 347 pulled up alongside him.
It is said that two men came out from the vehicle and fired several shots at Superville, hitting the victim many times about the body before finally fleeing the scene.
People who witnessed the entire incident immediately notified the police as well as emergency health services following which PC James and Ag Sgt Young responded.
As they arrived at the scene, they found Superville’s motionless body lying on the ground, bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries. The police officers contacted their colleagues, who responded along with a district medical officer who viewed the body and pronounced it dead before ordering its removal from the scene.
Meanwhile, it was also said that crime scene investigators PC Ramersar and WPC Baptiste also visited the scene and found many spent shells. The investigations are still ongoing into the shooting incident.
It is to be noted that this was the seventh murder that took place in the capital city of Trinidad for the month so far.
The last homicide which was reported in Port of Spain was on Wednesday, June 12, when the decomposing body of a male who has not been identified yet was found floating in a river near the Beetham water treatment plant.
As the country is witnessing a huge increase in the number of homicides, the residents have now even stopped urging the government to do something as they have already failed and are sitting idle without doing anything about the situation.
