1 dead, several injured after truck fell off a cliff in Jamaica

In addition to the death of one person, seven other persons have been severely injured and are undergoing treatment at the moment said the Watson - Detective Superintendent of Police Dean.

A truck in Jamaica fell over from a steep cliff, leading to the death of one individual and injuring several others. As per reports market vendors were on board of the truck, transporting their goods.

The incident happened on Friday morning in Darliston, Westmoreland, where the truck fell over from a very steep cliff due to an apparent malfunction. The deceased, a male, has been identified by the locals by his alias, "Mass Tim". In addition to the death of one person, about seven other persons have been severely injured and are undergoing treatment at the moment said the Watson - Detective Superintendent of Police Dean.  Several citizens and residents nearby gathered as the site of the incident to help rescue the injured and transported them to the hospital.  People also immediately informed the police officials who made a quick response to the incident and reached the location.  One of the witnesses who saw the whole incident in Jamaica said he is still in a state of shock over the tragedy. Steeve Perrin said that he was driving his motorcycle when he saw the deadly crash.  He added that his friend, who was sitting behind him on the motorcycle, told him that the truck appeared to be malfunctioning because it suddenly started to speed up.  Perrin also said that he is still traumatised and can still hear the driver of the truck screaming out for help.  The after photos of the incident are becoming viral on social media, with people calling it 'shocking'. People also expressed their condolences and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.  "Condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased, Rip, and speedy recovery to all the injured victims," wrote a user named Sashelle Litchmore. Another user named Patricia said, "My condolences to the family of the man and speedy recovery to the other passengers." A user named Johnson also urged the government to make upgrades to the existing roads. He said, "I keep saying we have to upgrade and take care of our existing roads, building highways are all well and good, but we only need so much not to get us creeping in debts. We have to put rails around these well-travelled roads. When you see fog come down on these roads, it's hard to see in daylight, much less dawn, reflectors in the road is a next good idea."
