The government announced that travellers would no longer need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa to enter the country as of 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022. But, the travellers will still need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days (72 hours) before their trip to The Bahamas.
Chester Cooper- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation stated that the change in the policy sends a message that the Bahamas is open for business.
"We have remained committed to evaluating practices and revising requirements to reflect the present situation throughout the pandemic." We understand that the Travel Health Visa was a hassle for travellers, and we're glad we were able to do rid of it."
The travellers must also observe on-island standards for mask-wearing and social separation in addition to testing negative before flying to The Bahamas.
