Two additional vaccine centres announced and 15,531 fully vaccinated in Antigua and Barbuda
St John's, Antigua: Ministry of health, wellness and environment of Antigua and Barbuda have added two additional vaccination centres to fasten this immunization drive of the country. Earlier, there were only four vaccine centres across the island, and now with the recent addition, there are six. The new vaccine centres have been established at the St. Mary's Hall on the All-Saints Road, and the Jennings Primary School Auditorium and COVID-19 vaccine will be administered on June 1 and June 2 from 9 am to 5 pm. The second dose vaccine to teachers and other staff of the Ministry of Education will proceed this upcoming weekend on June 5th and 6th. Besides this, the vaccine drive at the persisting four centres will also continue- the existing locations are Glanvilles Polyclinic, the Villa Polyclinic, the Precision Center, and the Multipurpose Cultural; and Exhibition Center. Authorities have reminded people to bring their vaccine cards if they are coming up for a second dose of the Oxford Astrazenenca coronavirus vaccine.  People who got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Jennings Primary School are advised to visit the school's auditorium, and similarly, those who receive the first shot must go All-Saints Secondary School could go to St. Mary's Hall for a second jab. People who have not received any dose of vaccine can visit any of the six centres to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Health Ministry stated that the team would be visiting Antigua and Barbuda Airport authority to vaccinate the staff. Ministry of health, wellness and environment stated that numerous target groups have already been vaccinated with a second dose. The target group includes teachers, Antigua and Barbuda Port Authority, uniformed bodies, Social Security, Inland Revenue, and the Financial Services Regulatory Commission. As of May 30, around 33,229 people received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 15,531 have received the second dose.
