St Kitts Yacht Club's Peninsula Swim fundraiser turns successful, know winners

This year's overall winner, Matthew Sturtevant, a student of Ross University School of Medicine, was approximately 11 minutes faster than last year's record time of 0:56:00.

St Kitts and Nevis: The 10th Annual Peninsula Swim fundraiser hosted by the St Kitts Yacht Club turned out to be a huge success. The event was full of excitement, thrill, fear, laughter, jitters and a great feeling of accomplishment.

This year's overall winner, Matthew Sturtevant, a student of Ross University School of Medicine, was approximately 11 minutes faster than last year's record time of 0:56:00.

The fundraiser took place on November 19, 2023, from Whitehouse Bay to Shipwreck, Friars(1.9 miles). Swimming caps and breakfast were included for each participant.

The event saw competitors as young as seven years old, emphasizing the upsurge of youth participation with 22 overall under-18 swimmers this year.

The St Kitts Yacht Club commended all the swimmers of the Blue Marlin Swim Academy St Kitts, Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center Bring It swim Team, Swim2Win Nevis, Swimrite and Special Olympics St Kitts Nevis, as well as their coaches for their hard work and excellent performances.

The organizers also greatly thanked all the swimmers, sponsors, parents, coaches, volunteers and kayakers.

"Thank you, Hon.Samal Duggins. Thank you also to our MC Max Brisbane and caterer Kali," outlined the St Kitts Yacht Club. The Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins, delivered brief remarks at the conclusion of the Peninsula Swim. "Thanks for your commitment to the development of swimming in the Federation," added the organisers.
