St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew attends annual Christmas Luncheon with RSKNDF Officers

During the luncheon, Prime Minister Drew was privileged to address and serve the Soldiers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force.

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, joined Soldiers of St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force for their annual Christmas Luncheon on Thursday, December 22, 2022. During the luncheon, Prime Minister Drew was privileged to address and serve the Soldiers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force.

The annual Christmas Luncheon Event was held in the mess hall at St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force Headquarters at Camp Springfield. While at the Force headquarters, The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis saluted the soldiers for their bravery and dedicated service.

According to Prime Minister Drew, These soldiers work dedicatedly towards ensuring and maintaining peace and security across our twin-island Federation.

Following the visit, Dr Terrance Drew took to his official social media account to share his experience. Through the social media post, PM Drew took the opportunity to thank the soldiers on behalf of St Kitts and Nevis and his own political Party, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP)

He stated that the SKNLP honours your sacrifices to protect and safeguard us.

According to Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, The role of the armed forces is critically important within society. The citizens and residents throughout St Kitts and Nevus can celebrate the Christmas and Carnival seasons assured of their safety and security because of the Armed Forces’ dedicated service.

Same way as the officers are committed to the service of their country, the government of St Kitts and Nevis is also committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure that soldiers can effectively carry out their duties.

During the Budget address delivered by the Prime Minister on Wednesday, December 14, he mentioned allocating EC$74.6 million to the Ministry of National Security, Citizenship and Immigration to honour the government’s commitment towards the advancement of St Kitts and Nevis.

In the Facebook post, Dr Drew promised to allocate Budgetary resources to support the Police and Defence Force’s strategic outlook. He would help to improve collaboration with local law enforcement entities, regional and international.

Further, Dr Drew committed to improving the continued use and pursuit of science and technology in crime prevention and solvability and, importantly, embracing and actively supporting the current social intervention programmes.

Finally, Dr Drew expressed in his social media post that after carving the turkey, it was an absolute pleasure serving lunch to these brave men and women.
