PUMA becomes official apparel sponsor of Saint Lucia Athletics Association
Following several months of negotiations, Global sports brand PUMA and the Saint Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA) struck a sponsorship and licensing arrangement that will run from July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2028. PUMA will be the official apparel sponsor of the Saint Lucia Athletics Association.  The partnership will enhance PUMA's relationship with the Association, which was recently strengthened by the signing of one of the nation's top sprinters, Julien Alfred. As part of the five-year agreement, athletes competing under the St Lucia Athletics Association banner will do so in PUMA apparel, including athletes to the World Championship in Budapest from 19th - 27th August 2023. About PUMA PUMA is one of the world's leading sports brands, designing, developing, selling and marketing footwear, apparel and accessories. The sporting brand has been driving the evolution of culture and sports for 75 years by creating high-speed products for the world's top athletes.  PUMA is a leading brand that offers a wide range of performance and sport-inspired lifestyle products. With categories spanning Football, Running and Training, Basketball, Golf, and Motorsports, PUMA collaborates with top designers and brands to seamlessly integrate sport influences into street fashion. The PUMA Group is the proud owner of PUMA, Cobra Golf, and stichd, and distributes its products in over 120 countries worldwide. Boasting a global team of approximately 20,000 employees, PUMA is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany. As team Saint Lucia gears up for competition at the 19th Edition of the World Championships, our two qualifiers are Centro Caribe Games medalists Julien Alfred and Michael Joseph. Julien, an NCAA record holder, has had a phenomenal season this far and will contest the women's 100m and 200m against the world's best. Michael, still a student-athlete at the University of Kansas, also has had a breakthrough season and will contest the men's 400m. These two athletes have secured themselves as some of the world's top performers in their specific events, and we wish them the best of luck as they fly the St Lucian flag high in Budapest. The athletes' personal coaches will accompany them in Budapest, whilst Kenvin McPhee will serve as team manager. He is no stranger to the athletes and has also worked very closely with Michael as his club coach. Both athletes will kick off the competition on Sunday, August 20, 2023—Michael in the men's 400m prelims and Julien in the women's 100m prelims. Julien will also be a contender in the women's 200m.
