Guyana: Asst Commissioner McBean holds critical routine inspection for officers

Commander of Regional Police Division 4A of Guyana, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean and his Admin team recently held an Inspection and Muster. The said operation covered all stations and outposts across the three subdivisions within the region.

Commander of Regional Police Division 4A of Guyana, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean and his Admin team recently held an Inspection and Muster. The said operation covered all stations and outposts across the three subdivisions within the region. According to the official reports, the aim of the operation was  to ensure that all police officers were following proper protocols and procedures in keeping with the Standing Orders.

Assistant Commissioner McBean and his team inspected the officers on parade, station buildings, and records, among other areas. After the team concluded the individual inspection, the officers muster according to subdivision for a special briefing.

In subdivision #1, the following posts are included,

  • Brick dam Police Station,
  • Stabroek Police Outpost,
  • Water Street Police Outpost,
  • Seawall Police Outpost,

The officers assembled at Brickdam Police Station. Meanwhile, Subdivision #2 includes the following posts:

  • East La Penitence Police Station,
  • Ruimveldt Police Station,
  • Agricola Police Outpost,
  • Meadow Bank Police Outpost,
  • North Ruimveldt Police Outpost,
  • East Ruimveldt Police Outpost,
In the subdivision  police officers assembled at East La Penitence Police Station.

The subdivision #3, includes the following posts:

  • Cummings Lodge Police Outpost,
  • Turkeyen Police Station,
  • Prashad Nagar Police Outpost,
  • Kitty Police Station,
  • Alberttown Police Station,
  • GPHC Police Outpost,
  • Juvenile Holding Centre,

In this area, the officials gathered at Alberttown Police Station.

During the assembly, Commander McBean briefed the ranks on Police Standing Orders 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 33, 63, 64, 65, 68, 71, 73, 74, 87, 90, and 91, as well as the Police (Discipline) Act Chapter 17:01, community-oriented policing, and posture for upcoming events.

He emphasised the importance of professionalism and accountability in the Guyana Police Force and gave the ranks an opportunity to speak about issues affecting them and raise any concerns they may be facing, all of which were addressed.

In closing, Commander McBean thanked the ranks for their hard work and dedication throughout the year, which helped in the reduction of crimes in the division.
