Grenada: Minister Telesford returns from USA with plans to flourish housing sector on island

The Housing Minister of Grenada, Philip Telesford, after returning from a diplomatic trip to the US and his ministers highlighted various significance of the housing sectors. The Government is thinking of investing in new housing plans.

The Housing Minister of Grenada, Philip Telesford, after returning from a diplomatic trip to the US and his ministers highlighted various significance of the housing sectors. The Government is thinking of investing in new housing plans. According to the reports, the Government has been planning and moving forward to make an investment in the housing sector of the island, where the governmnet has planned to build over 500 Grenadian Styled Climate Smart Houses.

While Clarifying the statement, Minister Philip Telesford said, "I recently returned to Grenada from a US trip with my Colleague, Minister Andy Williams, as part of the Government’s research into the housing sector, as we are pushing ahead with plans to invest in the construction of 500 + Grenadian Styled Climate Smart Houses."

This trip to the United States of America was an opportunity for the Government of Grenada as, during this time, they surveyed different factories and markets related to housing works. The minister also looked for the different and advanced styles of houses in the US. This new housing project is said to be a changing phase for the country in the field of housing.

The minister, during his address, entirely focused on the vision of changing the ways of housing and also trying to replicate those housing systems of the US in Grenada.

Minister Telesford added that this was a very beneficial trip for the country as during this, they tried to talk and consult various engineers, developers, IT specialists, Contractors and researchers of the industry. This was when the minister collected first-hand knowledge from these professionals regarding what type of planning they had been doing while developing the housing system in the USA.

He concluded, “Our Government remains committed to the construction of 500+ High-quality, Grenadian-styled Family Homes to create and facilitate access to housing that will substantially increase the number of Grenadian families who own and live in their own homes."
