Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, attended the EU CELAC - European Union-Community of Latin America and Caribbean States Summit in Brussels, Belgium. The PM joined the two-day meeting on July 17 to 18.

She joined HE Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of Spain, HE Charles Michel, President of the European Union Council and HE Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union Commission, for the start of the third EU-CELAC Summit.

PM Mia Mottley said that this summit represents a significant chance to strengthen the EU-CELAC collaboration, and it comes at a time when everyone is encountering major global threats and challenges.

"We know how the climate crisis and global economic and political instability threaten the development of the world and its people. But in particular, we also know that countries in the Caribbean and Latin America disproportionately face a myriad of issues that can only be solved through collaboration and cooperation," said the Barbadian PM.

PM Mottley worked with her fellow leaders and partners from the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and the European Union to address these and other matters for the benefit of all the constituents.
